Deans List

Each FTC team can nominate up to two outstanding 10th or 11th grade students as FIRST Tech Challenge Dean's List semi-finalists. Additional program information and past winners can be found on the FIRST website: https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc/deans-list

How to Nominate

The nominating mentor logs into the team dashboard. Complete the student information and answer the question prompts. Detailed instructions are available in the: Dean's List Nomination Guide.

Nomination tips:

• Prepare the question answers ahead of time to avoid losing information if the system times out.
• Provide as much detail as possible with specific examples.
• Use the entire character limit.
• If the student participates in both FTC and FRC, only include contributions and examples specific to FTC.

Interview Event

Nominated candidates will be assigned a ten minute interview time slot the evening of February 12 or February 13 between 6:30 and 8:30 pm. Interviews are held via video conference.

  • Select Event Volunteering

  • Narrow dates to February
• Click on "FIRST Tech Challenge IL Deans List Interviews" event
  • Select "Dean's List Interviewers" and click next
  • If you are associated with an Illinois team, add their team number
  • Click Complete

When are winners announced

Illinois Dean's List Finalists are announced at the Illinois Championship event.
